Old John Brown Artifacts: “John Brown’s Final Request”

As the 150th Anniversary of John Brown’s death winds down, I’ll be posting images of some of the artifacts from his era.

On November 29, 1859 – three days before his execution – an incarcerated John Brown wrote a letter to the wife of one of his comrades, which described his vision of his own funeral:

“I have asked to be spared from having any mock; or hypocritical prayers made over me, when I am publicly murdered: & that my only religious attendants be poor little, dirty, ragged, bare headed & barefooted, Slave Boys; & Girls; led by some old greyheaded Slave Mother….Your Friend, John Brown”

SixthSense Technology

This is some trippy revolutionary sh!t. MIT student, Pranav Mistry, dropped science on his peers and mentors with his invention, SixthSense – a wearable device that enables new interactions between the real world and the world of data. You just gotta see it. It takes a minute or so to get into the video, but it’s worth the watch. The most impressive part is that homie isn’t even try to sell the device. Rather, he’ll open-source the software for maximum possibilities. I smell a Nobel in the works.
